Follow the trail
If you’d like to get some steps in, explore the new Jack A. Markell Trail which take you through the Russell W. Peterson Wildlife Refuge or head over to Brandywine Park which includes a swinging bridge and zoo. If you’re interested in adventure, try top-rope climbing and rappelling at Alapocas Run State Park.
Take the scenic route
The Brandywine Valley National Scenic Byway will take you from downtown Wilmington to gorgeous mansions and estates. Spend an extra day in Wilmington to explore the rich history and heritage of Winterthur Museum and Gardens, Nemours Estate, Hagley Museum or Mt. Cuba Center.
